WHY LEDORGA ?

Our goal is simple and straightforward: to organise annually a major meeting for gay vintage car enthusiasts from all over Europe.

The first meetings of this kind isn't really new, the first one was Eurotour, early in the 90's. It is organised alternately by the various gay vintage car clubs in Europe, the Netherlands GCCC, the British GCCG, the French GAC or the German QUEERLENKER.

Inspired by the success of these meetings, Edouard Descamp started organising a gay tour rally every other year, called THE EASTER RUN and took place mainly in Belgium and during the Easter weekend. Since the Easter Run was held every other year, we thought it might be a good idea to fill the gap and organise an event in the year in between and to give everyone the opportunity to discover " la belle France " as well. It resulted in the first HAPPY WAY 1996, followed by the second one in 1998 and likewise in 2000 and 2002. The first ELEGANCE CRUISE took place only in 1999 to fill in for the EUROTOUR, which the French club was unable to organise and the EASTER RUN, which had stopped simultaneously. But a year without a similar popular event? We tried to keep up the tradition and it resulted in a new concept, including both a car rally and a grand "concours d'elegance"; the ELEGANCE CRUISE was born. Due to the popularity of both types of events, they have become a sort of annual tradition where European gay car enthusiasts meet and meet again in a rather relaxing and truly gay atmosphere! In consequence, the HAPPY WAY and ELEGANCE CRUISE are organised annually and alternatively at the Easter weekend.
This year, 2002, the RAINBOW TOUR took place for the first time in October. This was an exceptional event, meant to assemble a relatively smaller group of car enthusiasts for a rather relaxing holiday week.

Every year the gay classic car clubs in the world are invited to participate in international events and gatherings, and naturally, during these events, many international friendships have developed and some some rather more permanent teams have formed… In order to satisfy a larger group of people, we try to keep the price at relatively modest level and achieve maximum value for money as well. Exceptional and/or vintage cars of 25 years or older can participate. Thus, you can spot popular cars, e.g. the FIAT 500, the Renault 4CV or the Citroën 2CV, as well as some of the more exclusive vehicles, e.g. Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, Bentley Mulsanne, Jaguar E-type or Cadillac Eldorado.
